Isabella was one of the first parts Teresa debuted. In fact in 1957, the year after the beginning of her career, she already recorded it for the RAI directed by Sanzogno.
Years after, along to her beloved Claudio Abbado, they made history at the Scala de Milano, equaling “La italiana en Argel” success to “Ármida” from Maria Callas. With this Italiana, the Scala marks one of the capital dates in the history of the reborn of the Romantic Bel canto. A date to write in gold in the history of the lyrical theatre.
Berganza kept singing the arias of this opera until the end of her career.
